Sun in Libra
Sun in Libra means you find yourself through relationships: your sense of "I" forms in comparison with another person and in seeking what suits you both. In a birth chart the Sun is the core of your personality and your will. Libra is an air sign ruled by Venus. It opens autumn, and astrologers call the signs that begin a season cardinal. For the Sun this is its fall, the sign where a planet struggles to show its best qualities: independent will is weakened here because the "I" is built through someone else.
Air makes your outlook social, so any situation breaks down into points of view, and Venus adds a pull towards beauty and agreement. A cardinal sign does not wait, though: you start conversations and negotiations wherever things have tipped out of balance. The strength of this placement is diplomacy and a sense of proportion, the ability to hold several truths in mind at once and to see a relationship as a whole. The vulnerability follows directly from the fall. You recognise your own wishes poorly and late, someone else's approval replaces your own measure, and decisions get postponed for fear of upsetting the balance.
The weak spot of the Sun in Libra is losing yourself in adjusting to others: behind the wish to please everyone, your own position gets lost, and you avoid conflict even where it is needed. Honest balance counts your own weight too, or it is not balance at all. When friends are choosing where to go, you might name your place before you hear what the others want. Or in an argument, say what you think first, and only then look for a solution for you both.
